ANOUNCEMENT #001-03
In an effort to streamline Contractors’ concerns regarding changes in the new contract, the Executive Board advises all members to follow the following guidelines to resolve any issues members may have in regards to providing services to MassHighway.
FIRST CONTACT: PIT FOREMAN
The pit foreman is your front line person. Please do your very best to
resolve all issues of non-payment, inaccurate Payment Vouchers,
or what might seem to be lack of call out or unfair rotation, or any other
issue at this level first.
SECOND CONTACT: DISTRICT SNOW AND ICE ENGINEERS
The Snow and Ice (S&I) Engineer in your District has direct oversight of all
S&I activities. Please consider the S&I Engineer as your second call in the
event that you feel as though you are unable to reach a satisfactory
resolution with your Pit Boss.
THIRD CONTACT: DISTRICT MAINTENANCE ENGINEER
Your District Maintenance Engineer has direct oversight of the District S&I
Engineer. Please consider contacting this office if all attempts to resolve
issues have failed on the first two levels.
In the event that you do have a problem, we want to know! Please contact your District representative and keep him up to speed as to your progress in resolving any issues.
In the event that you are unable to resolve your concerns by way of the above chain of command, we ask that you schedule a meeting with your District Representative. Your Rep has a direct link to Administrators in both the District Level as well as at MHD Headquarters in Boston.
We are confidant that this new system will work to the satisfaction of all members, as well as the MassHighway administration.
